Canadian Enbridge plans $170 million investment in Quebec wind farm

Canadian Enbridge Inc. announced its desire to acquire a 50% stake in the soon-to-be-completed Massif du Sud wind farm in Quebec, Canada. The investment in the 150-megawatt wind energy project will be worth $170 million.

Endbridge is the biggest company that transports Canadian oil to the U.S. It will again team up with EDF EN Canada, a renewable energy development company, for the investment. The two companies had earlier invested in the 300-MW Lac Alfred wind farm, which was also located in Quebec province.

Construction of the Massif du Sud wind farm began back in November 2011. When it is completed before 2012 ends, it will operate 75 wind turbines and provide power for 35,000 homes in Quebec.
